Girl’s Trip has already achieved the impossible of the impossible, featured a R-rated comedy about black women having fun with little to no drama that people actually LOVED and wanted to watch. The success of the summer’s hit film has the movie ready to hit the ground running again with the possibility of a sequel, Girl’s Trip 2.
Over the summer the world couldn’t stop buzzing about the movie after falling in love with the characters played by some of our favorite black actresses Queen Latifah, Regina Hall and Jada Pinkett Smith and introducing us to our new fav Tiffany Haddish. It comes as no surprise to us that viewers want more of these ladies!
Talks of the sequel comes after the movie beat the odds and grossed $114 million dollars to date in the US alone after only spending $19 million to initially make the film. According to Vulture, it is the first studio movie to be produced, written, directed and cast black actors to pass the $100 million mark in the box office.

In an interview with Vulture, the producer of the hilarious film, Will Packer, shared his thoughts on a follow up of the movie, “We’re definitely talking about it. The only thing harder than opening a studio comedy today is opening a studio comedy sequel. That’s the next challenge. I love our team. If anybody can do it, we can do it. It’s still a little early — the movie is still in theaters — but it’s something we’ve all thought about.”
We’ll keep our eyes open for more details on a sequel with our favorite girls. We have to ask, are you all here for Girl’s Trip 2 or should they leave it alone?
