What better way to kick off the first weekend playlist by The Dope Duo, than to feature a list with some of the most popular duets of all time. I’m going to take you back to some of the most classic songs performed by a duo, that are guaranteed to have you singing to the top of your lungs. Hope you all enjoy and be sure to check back next Friday, as we will be uploading a new playlist every week!

  • Dilemma – Nelly & Kelly Rowland

Any lover of R&B and Hip-Hop knows that this song was one of the most popular duets in the early 2000s. This song allowed us to see a softer side of Nelly, which we all loved, and we were also able to get a taste of Kelly outside of Destiny’s Child.

What more is there to say? Who doesn’t love Jay and Bey? This song is the epitome of Jay & Bey; two bad asses, taking over, together! Check out their modern day Bonnie & Clyde, “On The Run.”

This song is probably one of the most classic duets ever. During a time when Monica and Brandy, were two of the biggest up and coming R&B artists, and while the world tried to pit them against each other, they decided to come together and create magic.

This collab definitely goes down in history. What made this song and video so popular was the story that it told. This was the leading single off of R.Kelly’s Double Up album.

We all loved when Jenny from the block and Ja Rule were rolling heavy together. Who’s here for a reunion between the two? Check out their most popular song together, “I’m Real.”

  • My Boo – Usher & Alicia Keys

Performed by two of R&B’s most talented artists, this is definitely a classic duet. When released back in 2004, you could not turn on the radio without hearing this song. You can not create a list of famous duets, without including “My Boo.”

Remember when Bow Wow and Ciara were couple goals? This was one of the cutest duets performed by an industry couple. They reordered this during their 2 year relationship back in 2005.

What would a list of famous duets be without Avant and Keke Wyatt? These two can sangggg! “Nothing In This World” is just one of their countless number of duets together.

Of course I couldn’t feature every banging duet, so comment any of your favorites below.
